Abstract and Paper Submission Procedure

　　The conference will issue a call for papers worldwide. All these shall meet the theme and special topics of the conference. All abstracts and papers will be blindpeer-reviewed by Paper Review Committee. The papers that are accepted by the conference will be presented in the Parallel Sessions discussion or posting.
Simple page abstracts addressing the conference themes are invited from all interested participants. Abstracts should be no more than 500 words in length and should summarize the intended content of the paper and the substantive issues it would raise.
1/ Important Dates:

　　Notification of acceptance of abstracts with referee comments: 20th of Mayl，2011

2/ Methods of Submission of Abstracts and Papers
　　The conference hope authors to submit their abstracts and papers via email, with “paper title (name of the first author) as the file name (the requirements of paper format will be announced through email or on the website before 20th of April, 2011). Please don’t use the following ways as the file name of the submitted papers such as “XXX paper submission”, “International conference paper submission”, and “paper submission”, etc.

Paper Review and Publication

　　A call for papers worldwide was launched. All the papers were reviewed by the Paper Review Committee of the conference. At the abstract stage we received 269 abstracts, 191 in Chinese and 78 in English. Among them, 207 passed the reviews of the Paper Review Committee directly or after revision. The conference finally received 160 full papers, with 114 in Chinese and 46 in English. 117 of them, 78 in Chinese and 38 in English, passed the final reviews of the Paper Review Committee directly or after revision. All together there are 128 papers in the final conference proceedings, including 12 invited papers.
　　All the accepted papers have been collected into an ISBN conference proceedings which is now being published formally by a Chinese press and will be distributed to attendees during the conference.

Place

Sustainable Design of Building Environment workshop Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, is the main public funding organisation for research, development and innovation in Finland. Tekes promotes a broad-based view on innovation: besides funding technological breakthroughs, Tekes emphasises the significance of service-related, design, business, and social innovations. In China, one important task for Tekes is to help Finnish companies to promote the best Finnish knowhow of sustainable technologies, and to find business opportunity. With the support from the Embassy of Finland and the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University, on the occasion of the visit of a Finnish delegation led by Tekes, we organize the Sustainable Design of Building Environment workshop. It is a good opportunity for Chinese players in the area of sustainable design to meet their Finnish counterparts coming from innovation organizations, companies and research institutions. The workshop consists of two parts. Part I, the keynote speech from Chinese experts, areas include: 1) Sustainable planning & design standard; 2) Challenge in sustainable design of buildings; 3) Finnish company's practice in China. Part II, the group discussion, three themes cover: 1) Social sustainability; 2) Economic sustainability; 3) Environmental sustainability. The focal topic is the challenges in turning sustainable design into reality.

　　1. Please fill in the Registration Form and remittance follow the Remittance Notes. Then send the registration form and the copy of remittance credential together to the organizing committee by e-mail: sustainability@126.com.

　　2. The deadline for pre-registration discount is based on the time of remittance.

　　3. Student participants should send a copy of student ID at the same time. Please show your student ID when attending the conference.

　　4. If a selected paper has multiple authors and there are more than one author attending the conference, each author needs to fill in a separate registration form.

　　5. The conference secretariat will reply in five business days after receiving your email. If you have not received a response after five business days, please contact us.

2/ Invoice:
　　All attendees of full payment can obtain corresponding invoices from the organizing committee when presenting the payment proof of banks or post offices.
3/ Treatment:
　　Attendees paying registration fee is eligible for thesis publication, a three-day attendance at the conference, and one copy of the proceedings book; if attendees would not attend the conference, one copy of the proceedings book will mailed by the organizing committee after.

Rights of the organizer

1/ The organizer has the right to designate a keynote speaker;
2/ The organizer has the right of applying, rejecting and publishing the thesis submitted;
3/ The organizer reserves the right of final explanation.
